3-in-1 Kids Sensory Water Station Curriculum
A dual-basin sensory water table for water, sand, and mud exploration, paired with a 19-page standards-aligned science curriculum covering Pre-K through 3rd grade.
The 3-in-1 Sensory Water Table features a splinter-free fir wood frame with smooth rounded corners, reinforced crossbars, and sturdy legs at a comfortable standing height for children ages 3 and up. Two side-by-side basins (each 15" x 11.5" x 4") allow students to explore different materials simultaneously or run comparison experiments with water in one basin and sand in the other. Built-in flowing water paths and removable baffles let students redirect water flow through the channels, introducing engineering design thinking at the earliest level. Plug-controlled drainage in each basin makes cleanup simple and teaches cause and effect. Included accessories (plant pots, sailboats, submarine, and a functional faucet) support open-ended imaginative play, fine motor development, and sink-or-float investigations. ASTM and CPSIA compliant.
Additional Supplies Suggested (sold separately): Play sand for sand and mud activities, measuring cups and spoons, funnels, food coloring for color mixing experiments, turkey basters or pipettes for fine motor development, small household objects for sink-or-float testing (corks, coins, sponges, leaves), smocks or aprons, and towels for cleanup. A science journal or notebook is recommended for the worksheet activities.
The PreK-3 Science Curriculum Guide covers two grade bands (PreK-K and Grades 1-3), each with learning objectives, detailed activities written specifically for this water table, and alignment to NGSS (properties of matter, pushes and pulls, engineering design, effects of water on Earth's surface), CCSS Math (counting, measurement, comparison, liquid volume in standard units), CCSS ELA (descriptive writing, observation journals), Head Start ELOF (scientific reasoning, fine motor development), and CASEL SEL competencies (cooperation, sharing, communication).
PreK-K activities focus on sensory vocabulary development, sink-or-float investigations, five senses observation, pouring and measuring with non-standard units, and the earliest introduction to solids and liquids through hands-on comparison. Grades 1-3 activities apply the scientific method to water flow experiments, erosion investigations (watching water carve channels through sand), states of matter exploration (solid ice to liquid water to evaporated gas), measurement using standard units, color mixing, and a full engineering design challenge where students plan, build, test, and redesign custom water paths using the removable baffles.
Includes 8 printable worksheets: What Did I Discover (observation journal), Sink or Float (predict and test 10 objects), My Senses at the Water Table (comparing water, sand, and mud across four senses), Pouring and Measuring (estimate and count), Water Flow Experiment (diagram water paths before and after moving baffles), Erosion Investigation (draw and analyze how water changes sand), States of Matter Explorer (find and document solid, liquid, and gas at the table), and Design a Water Path (complete engineering design cycle with plan, build, test, evaluate, improve).
The guide also includes a therapeutic applications section with guidance for occupational therapy (fine motor, tactile processing, bilateral coordination), speech-language pathology (sensory vocabulary, descriptive language, requesting), and applied behavior analysis (turn-taking, following directions, task sequencing), plus a sample IEP goal bank with measurable objectives.
Designed for homeschool families, preschool classrooms, therapy settings, and early elementary science programs. Curriculum guide delivered digitally as a PDF after purchase.

FAQs
How long does shipping take?
Please reach out if you have urgent needs and we will accommodate your request to the best of our abilities. Some orders with multiple items will arrive in multiple shipments. We pride ourselves on providing the very best in hands-on learning tools for typically developing students as well as those with special needs. We offer a multitude of top-notch brands and “shop small” whenever possible. For this reason, our learning tools have a variety of processing and ship times. Check the item description for individual shipping details as we make every effort to disclose when an item requires lengthy fulfillment.
Why didn't I receive my entire order?
It's coming, we promise! Items ship from multiple warehouses and ship as they become available so that you don't have to wait for all of your goodies to arrive if an item is on backorder or handmade.
What's taking so long?
We are a small business and work hard to provide fun and engaging tools through various platforms serving special needs families like our own. As with most government backed programs, this often means longer than expected wait times. Please know that we care very much and will deliver.
