The Art of Button Making Curriculum Kit
A professional 3-in-1 button maker machine with hundreds of button components paired with a 19-page standards-aligned curriculum covering graphic design, entrepreneurship, social advocacy, and CTE career pathways from 4th grade through 12th grade.
What's Included:
The 3-in-1 Button Maker Machine produces professional-quality pin buttons in three interchangeable sizes (25mm, 32mm, and 58mm) using a single machine with an ergonomic arc handle and alignment scales for consistent results. No installation or assembly required. The machine also makes mirrors, keychains, bottle openers, and fridge magnets using the included components.
The kit comes with 150 iron and plastic bottom badges (50 per size), 300 tin top covers (100 per size), 60 blank circle papers (20 per size), 300 transparent films (100 per size), a precision circle cutter for sizing artwork, 2 hex wrenches, 2 gaskets, and a user manual. The Mr. Panda Creative Book provides three levels of creative scaffolding: pre-colored designs ready to cut and press, black-and-white designs for coloring before pressing, and blank pages for fully original artwork.
The curriculum follows three integrated learning tracks across all grade bands. The Art and Design Track covers composition within a circular format, color theory, typography, illustration, contrast, visual hierarchy, and the challenge of communicating a clear message in a very small space. The Entrepreneurship Track covers product design, cost calculation, pricing strategy, marketing, profit and loss, break-even analysis, and running a real or simulated button business. The Social Studies Track covers the 125-year history of pin buttons as tools for political campaigns, civil rights movements, social advocacy, personal identity, and cultural expression.
The 19-page curriculum guide covers three grade bands (4-5, 6-8, and 9-12), each with learning objectives, detailed activities, and alignment to National Core Arts Standards (creating, responding, connecting), CCSS Math (operations, ratios, percentages, financial literacy), CCSS ELA (persuasive writing, design briefs, business plans, presentations), CTE career clusters (graphic design, marketing, manufacturing, entrepreneurship), Social Studies (civic engagement, social movements, political expression), and CASEL SEL competencies (social awareness, responsible decision-making).
Upper elementary students learn the button-making process from start to finish, design original artwork within a circle, compare how the same design works across three different sizes, and run a simple button business with cost tracking and pricing. Middle schoolers write professional design briefs, create 5-button advocacy campaigns for social causes they care about, analyze historical campaign and protest buttons, and run full pop-up shop simulations with team-based branding, marketing, and profit analysis. High schoolers develop complete brand identity packages (logo, color palette, typography, brand voice), build marketing plans with target market analysis and distribution strategy, analyze the button maker as a manufacturing system (inputs, process, outputs, quality control, defect rate, waste reduction), and connect their button-making experience to CTE career pathways in graphic design, marketing, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.
Includes 7 printable worksheets: My Button Design Lab (4-5 design planning with sketches and messaging), Button Business Plan (4-5 product line with cost, price, and profit per design), Design Brief (6-8 professional design process document), Campaign for Change (6-8 five advocacy buttons with design rationale), Brand Identity Package (9-12 full brand system with logo, palette, and typography), Profit and Loss Statement (9-12 complete revenue, costs, and margin calculation), and Manufacturing Process Analysis (9-12 full system analysis with defect rate and process improvement).
Designed for homeschool families, art classrooms, CTE programs, after-school clubs, and entrepreneurship education. Curriculum guide delivered digitally as a PDF after purchase.

Please reach out if you have urgent needs and we will accommodate your request to the best of our abilities. Some orders with multiple items will arrive in multiple shipments. We pride ourselves on providing the very best in hands-on learning tools for typically developing students as well as those with special needs. We offer a multitude of top-notch brands and “shop small” whenever possible. For this reason, our learning tools have a variety of processing and ship times. Check the item description for individual shipping details as we make every effort to disclose when an item requires lengthy fulfillment.
Why didn't I receive my entire order?
It's coming, we promise! Items ship from multiple warehouses and ship as they become available so that you don't have to wait for all of your goodies to arrive if an item is on backorder or handmade.
What's taking so long?
We are a small business and work hard to provide fun and engaging tools through various platforms serving special needs families like our own. As with most government backed programs, this often means longer than expected wait times. Please know that we care very much and will deliver.
