If you’ve been here for a while, you know something about me.
The Sensory Site was never just about products.
It was born from lived experience. From motherhood. From early mornings researching. From sitting beside a child who needed the world to slow down and soften. From learning that some children don’t learn by listening — they learn by feeling, moving, squeezing, building, swinging, drumming, kneading, rocking.
And I’ve always believed this:
Kinesthetic learners deserve real curriculum. Not just “accommodations.” Not just worksheets with fidgets on the side. Real, rich, meaningful learning that honors how their brains work.
Over the years, I’ve poured my heart into creating adaptive, tactile, regulation-first curriculum — the kind that blends academics with sensory tools. The kind that respects nervous systems. The kind that works with children instead of against them.
And today, I want to give you something.
I am releasing a collection of free kinesthetic curriculum downloads for our Sensory Site families.
No “perfect homeschool” pressure. Just thoughtful, regulation-centered, hands-on learning experiences you can use immediately.
These downloads include:
• Animal studies with weighted plush + sensory play extensions
• Tactile science lessons (slime, dough, dissection kits, sensory bins)
• Art-based project learning (needle felting, quilling, crochet, music, knots)
• Social-emotional learning through movement and play
• Montessori-inspired hands-on literacy and math ideas
• Regulation-first daily rhythm supports
• PDA-affirming engagement strategies
• Sensory swing and playground-based learning prompts
• Drum and music integration for creative expression
• Nature-based and outdoor kinesthetic exploration
Everything is written the way I design for my own family:
✔ Low-demand options
✔ Multiple ways to participate
✔ Visual supports
✔ Emotional regulation embedded
✔ Flexible age ranges
✔ No shame if you adapt it
Because here’s the truth:
Some kids can sit and listen.
Some kids need to climb and swing while they learn about penguins.
Some kids need to knead lavender dough while practicing spelling words.
Some kids need rhythm before reasoning.
Some kids need connection before curriculum.
And that is not a deficit.
That is wisdom.
Why I’m Giving This Away
I know how expensive resources can be.
I know how isolating parenting can feel.
I know the pressure to “do school right.”
I know the exhaustion of advocating over and over.
And I also know what happens when a child feels understood.
Their shoulders drop.
Their eyes brighten.
Their nervous system softens.
Learning opens.
Let your child lead.
Start with regulation.
Offer choice.
Short bursts.
Movement breaks.
Follow interest.
Close the lesson early if the nervous system says “enough.”
You are not behind.
Your child is not behind.
We are building differently — and differently can be beautiful.
From My Family to Yours
The Sensory Site has always been more than a store to me.
It’s a community of parents, therapists, educators, and caregivers who see kids the way I do — capable, complex, sensitive, brilliant.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for choosing connection over compliance.
These free curriculum downloads are my way of saying:
You’re not alone.
You’re doing better than you think.
And your child’s way of learning is valid.
With so much love,
Megan
